EUDL stands for Enforcement of Underage Drinking Laws. It is a task force consisting of members from the Iowa State Patrol, Department of Human Rights, Governor’s Traffic and Safety Bureau, Juvenile Court Systems and Office of Drug Control Policy. This task force was developed to help determine what programs will have the greatest impact on enforcement of underage drinking laws.
The first project in progress is an online Alcohol Policy tool; this will be a standalone site that the involved departments will link to from their agency web pages. It allows the user to create a policy for their establishment to either post and or review with their employees. This E-policy tool is being replicated from a current tool that the state of Maine uses. ABD has written and modified Iowa code specific sections and the policy tool will be rolled out as soon as the technical details are worked out. The projected website will be www.ialert.iowa.gov
